Welcome aboard, Brian. I went from an 996 Anniversary Edition to a Sport TDV8 and never missed the Porsche for a minute. the 4.2 didn't do it for me and my current RR 4.4TDV8 certainly tops them both.

I use my wife's Cooper S mid-week and the RR is the weekend toy and for longer journeys. Great combination. Current: FF Westminster money pit

Me too! Mrs S had an R56 JCW Mini and now has the current gen, which I use for buzzing about, the fatty gets used at weekends, with Southeast Trains doing the commute grind. Neither of the minis is what you might call economical, and the R56 drank oil. |

So, tested a couple of 3.6 TDV8s today (one 78k, one 130k) and I liked them a lot - so I'm thinking a diesel *might* be the one; although I need to try a 4.2 to be sure..
