That’s easy 👍

It’ll look like a much bigger Velar, or a much, much bigger new Evoque. Alternatively, if you want to hold on for the new RRS, it’ll look like a bigger Velar, or a smaller 5th generation FF Rolling Eyes

LR make this all nice and easy Laughing

We should start to see some spy pics of camouflaged ones in the next few months.

I hope they go a little further with the design than just. a Velar clone. The recent facelift has already done that. They need to go a design step on to last the next 8 years or so.

I think given the way most marques are heading ( hard to distinguish between models apart from slight variations in size ) as Red Merle has alluded to , I don't see anything too inspiring to be honest .

Taking cues from the latest evoque and the cancelled RR coupe I think I'm with Red Merle on what to expect .

Any 'developments ' will be electrification , automation and as ilard says a hike in price .

Either way its getting harder and harder for the 'non aquatinted ' to tell the difference between models these days ?

Will it not be MY2023 until the next version is imminent ? 10 years cycle from MY2013 NEW RANGE ROVER with MY2018 refresh = a MY2023 NEW NEW RANGE ROVER. RR's that are part of my car timeline since I bought my first RR Classic in 1999:

On the waiting list for the RR EV MY2025 Wink

I don’t think any manufacturer is restricted to a set cycle, least of all a 10 year one. Maybe it looks like:

Disco - 2017MY
Velar - 2018MY
Evoque - YOU ARE HERE
Defender - 2020MY
Fatty - 2021MY
Disco Sport - 2022MY
RRSport - 2023MY

It was certainly planned as a 2021MY. However, with JLR’s current financial position it could realistically be delayed.

Of course they are not restricted to a set cycle. However, looking at the last four RR model history ±10 years is a pretty good indication, the first generation lasted 24 years up to 1994.

Second Gen. MY1995: P38 intro in late 1994
Third Gen. MY2003: L322 intro in late 2002
Fourth Gen. MY2013: L405 intro in late 2012

Fifth Gen. MY2023 with an introduction in late 2022 ? There are reports of a 2021 intro. Let's hope so it will be a MY2021 but I am not gonna hold my breath. RR's that are part of my car timeline since I bought my first RR Classic in 1999:

They can little afford to delay in my opinion with new offerings from the competition being released all the time. When the L405 first came out it was the default choice, but now there are various increasingly attractive alternatives.

Given the global slowdown in car sales and the R&D costs of electrification, JLR are going to struggle to remain independent for much longer in my opinion. Tata does not have the resources to shoulder it becoming a burden and will look to off load.

This all points to needing to bring new product to market sooner rather than later.

I haven’t seen any spy shots yet. If we get spy shots in November then MY2021 is a possibility, I guess, but it does feel like they’ve got their hands full with the Defender right now.

I did some price comparisons between L322 and L405 at launch. Looks like 17.5% to 20% price hike could be expected, and coupled with no discount at first that could be like 25% uplift in practical terms. My budget is £110k so if I don’t buy L405 (and I need a factory order) then I’ll be stuck with a RRS, which I really do not want.

Word on the street is that they are talking with PSA Group ... to become a French British Icon ... that could be a real challenge. RR's that are part of my car timeline since I bought my first RR Classic in 1999:

But at least they’ll offer a standard green paint again, “Garlic Leaf Vert métallique”.
