[For Sale] 2009 (2010MY) 5.0L Supercharged Autobiography

Well I had just gotten this how I wanted (added lots of stuff, fixed lots of other stuff) but L405 itch is soon to be scratched so it has to go. I'll stick some photos and full details over the weekend. Its in pretty good nick but it has done 135,000 miles so if you are interested and want specific details/photos of a particular area just ask. Its got RSE - not that I have ever used it Very Happy

I was thinking around £11,500 and I'll let it run on the forum for a couple of weeks - maybe even a month.

Its back on its standard alloys now - PM me if interested or geoffsmi@gmail.com if you're a lurker with insufficient privileges. Geoff

England 2013 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Luxor

Right so this morning I gave the car a quick wash (wheels would benefit from a bit of effort and no doubt car would benefit from a bit of wax) and took some exterior shots. I have to say its a bit of a ball ache, Interior shots to follow. I have had a fair bit of interest in the car already and I will sort the photos out into a Flickr album and post soon. I need to point out that the asking price is £11,500 and this is the price not the start of a negotiation. If it ends up on Autotrader it will be at a higher price I'm sure to allow for normal haggling. Yawn

Things I have done (or had done):
New tailgate fitted under warranty
Deployable Steps
Tow Bar
New battery
New Supercharger (not sure this was necessary)
New front discs and pads
Fitted flappy paddles
New nearside rear brake calliper.
New stop start button
Rear corroded brake lines replaced
Uprated reversing lights - LED
Upgraded headlight bulbs.
New deluxe carpet mats and full set of rubber mats, inc boot area also side cargo nets.
Damper fitted to lower tailgate
Spare wheel lifting thingy
New Key
MOT until Autumn (September I think)

I will also include a set of illuminated trade plates, home made not genuine and the Peltier unit for the drivers seat - see below.

I have shown all the tyres and the wheels and the two scuffs on the rear bumper, also photos of wheel arches where I understand corrosion can take place.

Good points:
Goes like stink
Everything works
RSE
In good condition inside and out. No "swirls on paintwork
It's cheap to sell quickly - I have a L405 coming at the end of the month.

On my to do list (and have been on for a couple of years!)
Fix drivers seat heating - I have the parts
Refurb the wheels, no damage as such but showing signs of age.
Get a gearbox oil change (its not giving me any problems)

Bad point
It seems to be wearing tyres unevenly at the rear and would you believe it has just (today) started a clunk at low speed over potholes. I had replaced some bits of the front suspension and had it 4 wheel tracked twice in the last 12 months.

Although I will post some interior shots later, I have edited my original post slightly, main point is price now includes the rubber mats - it seems they are desirable. Also selling them separately (particularly posting) will be another ball ache I can do without. Geoff

Right I said I would add some interior photos and I am trying to show area of maximum wear, if I've not shown it you can be confident that it is as new.

Drivers door handle:

Passenger door handle:

Pedals:

Centre Screen (with iPad screen protector cut to size)

RSE and a bit of headlining (leather)

Back seat:

Drivers seat

Like I said in good condition for a car with 130000+ miles actually photos make it look a bit worse than it looks in the flesh (so to speak). I didn't bother even vacuuming it out, its had the rubber mats in all the time I've had it so carpet is also in good condition but there is also a full set of original carpet mats (not used).

Oddly as with outside pics and description I've highlighted the bad bits, all I can say its given me trouble free motoring since I got it from another forum member, probably the best car I have owned to date. Geoff

Having had a quick look on Autotrader it seems to me that insisting on £11,500 was a mistake, people like to haggle - its human nature. So, that can be the start of a haggle but I am willing to accept less for it as is from members on here i.e. without me doing anything to it. I couldn't find an equivalent car on Autotrader to benchmark it against, more miles, less miles not well maintained 5.0L S/C ABs, plenty of 3.6 diesels for less though..

If it doesn't sell on here then I'll have to do the jobs and put it on Autotrader in a couple of weeks but as well as taxing and insuring two cars, which quite honestly I don't want to do, I just want to get out and about in my new L405 and forget about its soon as possible because it was and is a great car. Geoff

I guess people want a nicely presented car. So maybe get it detailed, paint chips etc done and make it look as good as it is. That's what the trade do after all. Take in a car as is, tidy it up and make a grand or two on it. I think it's priced extremely well Geoff it's just that people still think of the negatives that you've been up front and pointed out.
So what to do? Get it tidied up and sell it pristine for a bit more.
Or put it on eBay starting at an attention grabbing £9995 and watch the price climb up?

. Cheers, Greg

I just thought I'd offer it here first but If I have to use a commercial outlet then I'll get cleaning and fix the seat next weekend. I'll give it a while and SORN my new car until it sells (or I get impatient Very Happy ). I wanted to describe warts and all with plenty of pictures so I didn't mislead any forum members, I sold my last Range Rover on here for a bargain price, even had a new rear spoiler Whistle Geoff

Another member told me where to look for wheel arch rust. I have always had that area covered under an edge protector (you can see it pulled back) so I didn't notice but when I removed it there was indeed a bit of surface rust so I took some photos in the interest of not misleading anyone..

Will fix the heated seat Tuesday, then valet, and Autotrader by the weekend Geoff
