New body panels? Rear quarter panel rust.

An issue has occurred on my newly acquired l322.

These gentlemen were hired to repair the minor rust spot on the corner of my left rear arch, but uncovered an interesting "repair".
Someone welded a new arch on top of old metal. Rust in between.
Price of repair increased from £500 to £5000, much due to the cost of the panel (ALA760150).

I assume there are no options to these large panels?
Where would be the cheapest place to acquire these?

Edit: regardless of how I edit the photos on my tablet, the forum turns them back.. 2007 L322 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway

I’m amazed some of the Land Rover parts companies don’t offer repair panels. Especially given the amount of these on the road

Hi, proper body shops will build the metal from scratch, the did on mine circa £5/600 all in. Ask them to do it themselves indeed.
Alternatively, source the second hand parts from a dry country, say south of France or Spain -it will end up much cheaper than £5000! l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

Rust damage now repaired acc. to LRs instructions (and 5k). They also found rust around the jacking points, which fortunately were included in the ALA760150 panel.

Naturally the other sill was inspected, and obviously another hole was found. Sill repair panels apparently only come as a whole side of the car, which is not an option.

I responded to you on RR. I apologize for being such a Muppet.

There were a couple here in LA which wouldn't be rusted but could have other issues. Los Angeles Craigslist had a MY12 and MY06 I but I dunno if these guys would be willing to cut them out, then of course freight might be a challenge. 2012 L322 SC Ipanema Sand

No worries. I've replied to you as well.
I've also sent an email to YRM Metal solutions, just in case increased enquiries could jump start l322 sill production.

I'll sort the freight if a decent arch/sill can be found in the US. There are boats coming to Norway on a regular basis. 2007 L322 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway

I have some rust on the arches on mine and was thinking about the lack of repair panels. My other project car is a BMW E30 M3 that I'm restoring, a car which was well served by BMW for panel replacements until recently.
There is a guy in Norway who is tooling up to make replacement panels for the E30 and must have access to some serious panel pressing equipment as some of these aren't simple flat panels but complex multi piece panels.
I was thinking about contacting him to see if he was interested in making something as repair panel.
