Hi, I have a 2002 and 2004 L322. I have added a 150db Lorry horn to one and I am adding spotlights to both. I have fitted wiring kits for these kinds of mods dozens of time to older cars. But after seeing that you have to jump start them without attaching the leads directly to the battery. I am worried about attaching the positive lead of the wiring kit directly to the battery. It has an inline fuse.

Can I just connect it directly to the battery? Or is there another place I need to attach the wire to please?

As I have so many added bits I fitted a 20a self-resetting fuse close to the positive post after which is an Aux fusebox. All my accessories are wired from the Aux fusebox via relays. My trail lights and front light bars are wired onto remote control relays so I can turn them on or off when in or out of the car.

No reason why you can't connect direct to the battery +ve terminal, I have an auxiliary fuse board connected to it for convenience but same difference.
The jump posts provided are more for convenience due to the location of the battery but as far as I know were discontinued on later years models.
