New here & to RR ownership.
I've tried searching the threads & tried the search facility to no avail.
I'd like to fit a reversing camera (& perminatly disable the reversing sensors) - is there a handy connection anywhere in the rear to do so please ? I'd like it to come on when reversing automatically on the front screen.

You haven't stated which vehicle. You could update your sign-in.

Firstly any aftermarket reversing camera MUST be NTSC not PAL or PAL/NTSC.

There is no convenient way at the rear of the vehicle to plug it in. You need to access the rear of the head unit to make the connection. You will probably also need a FARCLA cable to be compatible with the socket on the back of the head unit. The shop on here can supply one. They aren't expensive.

Once fitted it is then a question of splicing into the reverse light power (or other suitable place) so that the camera comes on automatically when reverse is selected.

Rather than run a cable from rear to front then I may be better off getting a wireless camera then ? Interesting about NTSC.

The RR is a 2003 Vogue (it should be on my profile).

Wireless would still need access to the rear of the head unit.

If it is a 2003 car with the BMW based system then you need to connect the camera to the radio unit in the boot rather than the back of the screen in a later model.

I can’t remember but the BMW units may be PAL rather than NTSC.

The connector isn’t there as standard you either buy a loom that that gives you the RCA, or get the individual wires to plug into the radio multi plug from a BMW Dealer.

Sadly that isn’t any good for the OP as that is the later touchscreen system and not the BMW based one.
