Hi, I’m in desperate need of some others views on their cars ride.

I purchased a 2016 4.4 AB several weeks ago trading up from a 5.0 sc l322.

The car really is fantastic but I am getting a juddering that starts to appear over about 45mph.

I took the car back to the garage to replace the dented wheels they supplied to me with the car, and got a replacement set of wheels that were then refurbished. Still juddering.

We took out another car of similar age with the same wheels and engine, and the juddering felt worse. Then another car of similar age with the same engine but smaller wheels and this felt better. All these three cars had the same cheap tyres so I bought a brand new set of wheels with Goodyear tyres, still a juddering.

I can’t believe this car would have a ride like this and I start to wonder if it’s just me, then I drive my van and it’s ride is smoother so surely something isn’t right.

The air suspension appears to work exactly as it should and there are no faults being displayed.

If anybody can shed any light that would be much appreciated.

The car is booked in at a LR service centre for two outstanding recalls and to investigate the juddering, but I don’t hold out much hope.

The car feels smooth like you would expect but has a sporadic judder/pulse that you feel through the car not just the steering wheel that’s enough to shake your guts.

Thanks, but it doesn’t seem to be related to steering in anyway and isn’t at low speed.

Could be brake discs and pads?

It has brand new front discs and pads and the judder is most noticeable when driving, not breaking.

I had a similar thing or maybe more of a vibration, in the end it was either the latest software update they did to the car or the re-torquing of the gearbox that they did...

Is it anything similar to my issue?

Yes, exactly I would say.

Did you manage to resolve the issue?

No, I got used to it but if I think about it it drives me crazy. All that money spent and my wife's Ford Galaxy rides smoother.

What puzzles me though is that few members commented on my thread so I was thinking it must be only me. The technician did admit that he felt it but he was surprised and offered no solution.

I have something similar on my L322 5.0 S/C - it's booked back in in a couple of weeks. It's not terrible but it's noticeable, and my last L322 didn't do it.

Anyone know whether this transfer box flush is relevant to the L322 too?

Thanks for that. I had read your post previously and it convinced me it was something to do with the wheels hence why I bought a brand new set of genuine Range Rover 7001 21s with new Goodyear tyres. The tyres were manufactured week 48 in 2018 so should be 100%.

I’m surprised at replacement ball joints with 22.5k miles. Mine has 41k miles now so maybe there is something in that, but aren’t those checked as part of an mot, which it has just had, by supplying garage though.
