Suspension Stiffness - different models

Just wondering, are the suspension rates different across different models? The suspension on my 2010MY 5.0 SC seems a fair bit firmer than on my old 2006 AJV8. It makes sense perhaps that something much more powerful would need a firmer ride - but just wondered whether this is actually the case or not?

That's interesting Stan. I'll check whether I have that - would go some way towards explaining.

Only later facelift cars have adaptive dynamics.

Should have a yellow warning light on dash that comes on with ignition and then goes out. Looks like a shocker and a spring.

We had the 3.6 TDV8 Sport and when we changed to a 4.2 SC Sport we noticed the ride was much firmer to the extent that it was a deciding factor in getting rid early on and buying a FF. I checked the part numbers and the struts were different on each Sport. I don't know if the same applies to the FF. Both had adaptive dynamics. Current: FF Westminster money pit

Gone:
RRS 4.2 SC
RRS 3.6 TDV8
FL2 TD4

The car's back now and yes, it does have adaptive damping. Looks like the top sections may have been renewed fairly recently too.

So the next question is, can the damping be softened at all?
