I've been toying with the idea of changing the engine oil inbetween services now the old girl is getting on in her miles (77K), just to ensure that she runs as sweet and smooth as possible. Nothing fancy, just a drain, new filters and refill. (I like that peace of mind, makes me warm and fuzzy inside )

I used to have a tool which was basically a tube with an electric pump on. It used to suck engine oil out of the dipstick tube, to save draining it. You can buy them from certain motor trade counters. Very handy bit of kit. You had to run the engine to temperature first, so that the oil was hot and thin. Left a very negligible amount of oil in the sump but soon got mixed up with the new stuff. Then it was just a case of removing the oil filter. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded |

I guess that's where air suspension comes in handy, just crank it up to off road height and crawl underneath! Discovery 4 HSE
