Any plug n play new head units available?

Hi, I think the head unit on my 2008 tdv8 is very dated and seeing as the sat nav doesn't work I'd like to remove it and install something more current.
Are there any new units that plug n play or is it a difficult job, I'm mindful of the fact the existing unit controls all sorts of functions besides entertainment, any advice would be most welcome, thanks. Thumbs Up 2008 L322 Vogue 3.6 TDV8 in Java Black with parchment and Navy interior. 125000mls.

I used to be indecisive and have a split personality... but we are ok now...I think?

A Trap

I don’t think there is any system that will integrate with the 2007 onwards MOST system.

Pity as I would love to replace mine with a Android system with up to date nav, camera(s) and other apps and better quality graphics and display

What's the difference between the up to 2009/10 and the later L322 with the updated screen? John

I know, Stan. It was the difference between the early MY 2006 on MOST systems and the later ones with the digital display in the L322 I meant. John

as Stan says, they are not interchangeable.

its not possible to put the 2010 kit into the 2007-9. to be honest its not much better in any case..... Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I have been reading on another forum that it has been done. I also have a 2008 l322 and would love nothing more than to get shut of the factory unit.

a quote from the thread..

Quote:
2008 Supercharged, head unit stopped working. Took it to a local audio place. They fitted...

Alpine ILX-W650 (had to fit this as its has a shallow mount, so it doesn't interfere with the the air vent in the center of the dash).
OEM Integration Radio Wiring Harness http://www.metraonline.com/part/AX-LR90082
Standard Antenna adapter.

I'm blown away, all steering wheel controls works, the unit looks great (i'll post some pics later). Apple car play, spotify, reads text messages etc. A great set up.

Someone else in the thread says that they will try a similar setup but relocate the standard unit to the glove box in place of the cd changer.

Also this company looks like they can do the install..

Apologies if the links are not allowed.
