Anyone been to.....

Has anyone been to Monte Carlo,Monaco?

We are going in a few weeks for 3 days, staying at the Fairmont Monte Carlo.

If anyone can advise the best way to get to Monte Carlo from Nice airport(taxi, train etc) it would be much appreciated thanks. Thumbs Up If you have nothing nice to say,say nothing at all.

I've been a few times but always driven but hope this review helps:

Well, a few options depending on your budget and where you are staying.

When I arrive at the airport, I take a helicopter. The fare is about 95 - 100€ per passenger (115€ includes transfer to your hotel). Takes six minutes, with departures every 20 minutes. Telephone +377 92 050 050 or http://www.heliairmonaco.com/ This is a great way to enjoy the coast - absolutely beautiful.

A taxi takes about 30-45 Minutes. A taxi from the terminal to Monte Carlo, costs 80€ - 90€ for up to four passengers.

Another option is the Airport Express coach, from the terminal to Nice Railway Station. Cost about 6€. From Nice Railway Station, take the train to Monte Carlo (about 30 minutes) which will run about 5€. It can be a very scenic way to travel.

Yet another option is to take a taxi to Nice Railway Station and then the train. Monaco enjoys an excellent bus system and runs about 1€. Buses run about every ten minutes. Just let the driver know where you need to go.

Enjoy your trip!

Sean

We went in 2009 and stayed at the Fairmont. Lovely hotel, great rooftop pool where you get a lovely view of the the Loews Hairpin bend and hear the beautiful cars revving around it.

I can't give you any directions from the airport as we drove from the villa we rented the previous week. getting a chopper in would be awesome. Discovery 4 HSE

Only spent half a day there during a cruise last year, I'd love to go there for a few days to have a good look round the place. 2006 Mercedes CLS
