Need a Replacement Key

Hi all,
I bought a used 2010.5/3.6 TDV8 recently but it came with only 1 key so looking to get the 2nd key.
What are my options, so far have only spoken to Dan and he quoted 188£ plus it will need programming.

So who will do this programming, will i still need to go to a Land rover dealer for programming after buying it from Dan and how much that programming is ?

And what does it usually cost if i go to a LR dealer and ask them to get it done.

Please advise of best course of action.

thanks

the current key looks like this

While we are at this topic, Does Keyless entry works on this model, i.e. Key in pocket and pull handle to open.
Doesnt seem to work for me. So just wanted to confirm.

Many thanks

It's not a keyless entry, A new key fob could be bought from Fleabay, if you have just bought a FF then do your self a favour and get an IID tool from Dan Duckworth`s it will save you a lot of money and you can program your own key.

Thanks tinman, so you are saying that with IID tool i can just program any key to my RR, dont need to order a key specific to this car. Please confirm

If You do a search on here I believe that is correct? The IID tool has a lot that can be done that will cost you a fortune at JLR Thumbs Up

Page 60 in the Gap iid handbook confirms any key.... but once reprogrammed it will no longer work on original vehicle.

It is specific VIN locked to a vehicle.
The full handbook is in Wiki for you to read at your leisure, to see what else it can do. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

thanks Baltic blue, i will have a read thru and i agree it makes sense to buy IID tool in long term rather than spending 200£ for the key only.

From my understanding is that you reprogramme all the keys together?

When I did one, you just needed a working key, and a new key (I think), not necessarily all keys (depending on how many you have!).
