Clearly the older the car / higher the mileage, the more regular servicing and maintenance matter.

That's what I was thinking, I'm not sure if there is a good independent in Birmingham but I will do my home work, in only 10days away from having the readys to get my 4.4 or 4.2sc, then the lpg fitted |

What year did the jag 4.4 start? I've read the lpg forum it's good, I've got a holiday home in mid wales so a lot of miles will be clocked up hence the lpg and th v8 rumble |

I think late 2006 - it came with the facelift as Ford had bought Jag & LR and so replaced the BMW bits where they could.

I had a BMW engined 4.4 many years ago and loved it.

If u look at the what’s your mileage thread, you’ll see a lot of the top 10 or 20 are 4.4 petrol and a lot have lpg.

Ouch! Could you have that same problem with a 4.2sc or is it just the 4.4 that has the chain guide problem? |
