I appreciate this is a little late for Gaz (apologies - only just read this) but I'll still add my 2p for anybody who bothers to use the search function in the future...

I use several of the Powerline adapters (and in general think they're great and work out of the box very well) - my only advice is not to buy the 'power through' versions, where you can still plug an appliance into the Powerline unit. In my experience they overheat if the appliance plugged into it is left on for a bit and the lose the connection, needing to be reset regularly.

(Sorry Gaz - not an IT geek so can't help with your woes, sorry!)

UPDATE:

The new access point is now working having done two things this time:

1. Read the instructions - Not having a Netgear Router I needed to use SETUP "B" rather than "A" this involved connecting 1 unit to router and 1 to computer then running set up CD then following instructions DURRGH

2. Taking Bogies advice and naming it the exact same name and password as my existing "OFFICE" Router.

It now connect full strength no probs so thanks to ALL that assisted
