Shiny leather does me in lol.

So.. is the steering wheel suppose to be shiny? I have cleaned mine and it’s still shiny I could possibly attack it a bit more aggressive but curious as I never had the car from new. [/b] Regards

i've not really taken much notice but i'd say its a 'satin' type texture...

Try a "Magic Sponge" (find in the cleaning materials aisle of your local supermarket)
on an inconspicuous area to test. The Magic Sponge can be quite aggressive....

Have used on gear knob and other trim parts with success .

+1 for the "magic" (melamine) sponge like the Flash Eraser.

I use Dr. Leather wipes(and/or spray) (which sounds like an horrendous S&M site admittedly but they are the business on seats and the steering wheel. http://www.drleather.com/ (not affiliated in any way- if I was I'd ask them to change the name!)

Managed to get the matt finish back on the 2011 S/C I just bought with minimal full fuss and you could practically see your face in it.  Formerly happymadison1978

Positive furniture clinic have released a kit for steering wheels

Ok so steering wheel now nice and Matt again.

Thanks to gliptone intensive cleaner and dr leather spray.

So reason I was confused is because I actually thought the steering wheel was vinyl which can have a shine to it.

I should have known better being a detailer lol.

Anyway peeps don’t use a magic eraser on the leather it’s very fine abroad can damage the top coat. Regards

@Dr Rob I got fairly severe dye transfer off my old ivory seats with them, then used G-Techniq L1 leather protectant to prevent recurrence. (also cursed myself for buying Diesel jeans!)  Formerly happymadison1978

Prefer my knob to be clean and shiny, and not gonna use no magic sponge on it

No, the steering wheel goes shiny because of all the grease and dead skin ingrained in it, get that layer off and it will be factory fresh again, if there is a grain you will start to see it once more too.
