I had my car serviced at an independent last week. Having just checked the oil and coolant they are both overfull. Is this dangerous, or a don’t bother situation. Both are over by about half a litre at a guess. |

On the oil level, was that hot or cold? And if you can put up a picture of the level indicator on the screen, we'll know better.

Both were defiantly overfilled by the Indy. Oil was checked on level ground 15 minuets after a 30 minuet drive using the service menu is on the yellow at the top of the disply and the message oil is overfilled is displayed. I just wondered if I could get away with it, or I would have to high a pressure and it would cause problems. |

Thanks for responding. I will go back to the garage, I know the oil always has to be sucked out with my engine, thers's no sump plug. |

I’m pretty sure there is a sump plug still. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

In that case I was previously misinformed. But reassuring to know oil can still be drained the traditional way |

Half a litre overfilled is nought to be concerned about |

The WM states to remove the suction pipe at the sump end for changing by draining. There's a recent post on that I can't seem to find, but it's fiddly to get it back. There is also, IIRC, a mini-sump plug which drains the area of the turbo drain discharge into the sump. That may darin the whole sump, or not.

5% overfilled is not an issue.
