Fuel Additives...

Just wondering if anyone recommends any fuel additives etc.?

Currently running my 3.6 TDV8 Vogue and wondering if anyone runs any fuel additives regularly to keep the engine in good shape or are they simply a waste of money?

Just serviced the motor last week, with some nice fresh oil. Fitting EGR delete kit this week and then coding them out with a light remap. 2009 Land Rover Rang Rover Vogue TDV8 - Buckingham Blue with Ivory Leather - 20” Alloys with Pirelli’s

I have used 2 bottles of Millers fuel additive over the past 6 months, but I can’t honestly say that I have noticed any significant change,/ improvement of any kind.

I tend to do a lot more short trips during the winter months and I was hoping it would help to keep the DPF soot levels down, but in truth nothing beats taking it for a good 50 mile run.

What benefits do you see...is it quieter?

Nino,
Does it cause any visible exhaust smoke, particularly at higher revs ?
I am thinking about our new very strict MOT test levels, which you may not be subject to.
Cheers
Mike.

PS I remember us both doing the exhaust “wipe test “ with a clean tissue. Thumbs Up G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

Mike, no smoke period.(you have seen my handkerchief) Very Happy .

Philip, I used 2T for the first time with 82K km and it made difference on first 20 km. quieter, smoother and better pickup, rock steady idling and no vibracion. I got the car in Milan,Italy with 78K km and as I said it was very noticeable improvement in drivability. if you do try please send a feedback.

.

Just TRY this and you will never look back -
Just don't ever use super market fuels - injectors will fail at 130K/160K - fact

If you have a V8 - then with this in it it will feel like a V10 ! - Try it for 2 complete tank fills - and you will never look back

Don’t bother with additives. Use the posh fuel every now again and routinely use branded fuels. Stay away from Supermarket fuels. Fundamentally they are the same basic fuel but then the companies add their blend of goodies, which is where the price difference comes in. I use normal Shell Diesel and occasionally either V-power or the wife will stick in BP Ultimate.

Steve.

So what’s the ratio of two stroke to diesel? & what’s the benefit / reason for its use ? I ask because I’ve never heard of this befor.

If you have a LR warranty, read the manual and warranty terms before going for additives.

Shell V Power for me whenever I can get it, next best BP Ultimate, never supermarket fuel unless would run out otherwise. Only Range Rovers since 1988
