Impossible to answer - there isn't a best - that's why there are options......

I always pay cash, and don’t use finance - my argument is a cash purchase has got to be the cheapest way as I am not paying any interest charges and not paying to borrow money.

Looking at it from a statistical point of view , how do people pay ? Would be useful if you gave a reason with your choice too .

Not forgetting, and some on here will explain this much better than I, If you take finance for even a small amount of the purchase price there is often a dealer contribution of several thousand and you can pay the finance off almost immediately without penalty. It seems crazy but this was explained to us at the time of buying and it worked very well. We saved a lot with this with a £70K plus purchase with no hassle.

My dealer just offered me about 5% less than WeBuyAnyCar versus a £115k new car. Shocking. |

I got more than webuyanycar from my dealer. It was part ex so always a bit hard to tell what you're getting off the new car vs what you're getting for your old car, but I was quite happy.

I think £11k per year is very respectable , much better than any other option I know of . Like Alistair mentioned earlier , not one definitive best way to purchase , but in your case EDJ I think you have done pretty good on £11k per year . |

Have a look at the finance options because they usually give an additional discount on the purchase price and then settle within fourteen days, the cooling off period for such agreements.
