Drivers seat switch surround panel

The dull chrome like film on the drivers seat switch surround panel is lifting off. Is is possible to sperate this part from the rest and replicate the chrome like finish ?
Thanks

This is the part I mean.

Hi, yes the chrome trim is removable. I have the same problem.

You could remove the trim and coating and vinyl wrap or repaint with a similar finish.

Alternatively, I found these.....

Cheers. Think I'll take a chance on the AliExpress stuff and see how it goes.

The cheapy AliExpress parts arrived today. Not fitted yet, as would like to find some paint to finish the plastic panel which these attach to first and do in one go.
They look OK. Not quite a chrome effect as the originals or as reflective, but since new ones are unavailable, they will look a damn sight better than the flaking mess I have right now. I'll caveat that buy saying, if they fit that is.
Anyway, a comparison.

A Trap

Looks like your seat foam has failed which means you are now flexing the chrome trim and this lead to the chrome finish delaminating, your new trim will do the same and eventually crack if you don’t replace the Lower seat foam.

I would agree with what ur20v says. I'm surprised that the side panel is still attached. But changing the foam I assume would be a PITA (excuse the pun) anyhow.

An easy non expensive fix would be to take the two front seats out and change the seat base's over... The outside of both will then be like new Thumbs Up

This is the passenger seat, which doesn't look that worn next the drivers side.
Is a seat foam available ? I did a quick Google but nothing really came up .

Those Aliexpress parts look great for the price! I look forward to hearing how you get on with fitting them. I'm sure they will fit fine.

Here is the result of my efforts. I used 4d carbon vinyl and an aerosol of Ford Sierra beige. The colour match is fantastic. I was not at all concerned about recreating the rubberized finish bmw applied.
