I’d highly recommend an IID when you get one too. You’ll read all kinds of reviews then decide to get one. It’s expensive in my opinion but I wouldn’t do without it now. Duckworth parts have a stock reform reasonable money too.

Aye im all for decent software. Save you a fortune in diagnostic. Had INPA , DIS and NCS EXPERT for the bmw. Extremely handy when you car craps itself.
Ive seen the group buy so will be investing if i ever pull the trigger.

When looking for mine, and over the previous years when looking at L322s I just remember being utterly shocked at the condition of these cars on sale...from dealers. Like for like, worse than an equivalent aged Ford Focus or VXL Astra. Dents, dings, greenery growing on door handles etc - just nutz.

I went to look at one at the weekend - dealer had said to me 'a couple of barely noticeable scratches on the drivers door, apart from that the bodywork is mint condition'

Except for the nearside - which was covered in marks, scratches etc. Clearly been driven down country lanes next to the hedges.

He also said 'car is in perfect condition inside, seats not worn' - I can only assume he was thinking of another car when he said that as it was exactly the opposite!!

I'm still tempted though - as a little project to tidy it up. Mechanically it was sound as were the electrics.

Did look at yours box brownie. But the servicing costs outweigh any mpg gains. My commute is 3 miles. I doubt adiesel woukd even warm up. I covered 12k in 2 years on my last car a diesel is pretty much pointless for me i think.

Living the dream. It mirrors what we have disussed in the past. Dealers are completely deluded when it comes to condition. They always add "for the year" or "for the miles"

I call bullshit on em. The wife hasca mk1 tt 225. So 19 years old. I just turn around and say. How come the older tt with more moleage is in better condition than your whole forecourt. Needless to say the never have an answer.

I wish she'd get a newer car to be honest. But its like a pet to her. If i got rid itd be like shooting your dog

Certainly agree if it going to be a purely very short distance vehicle, the TDV8s love a run to stretch their legs that’s for sure. David
