where do the drainage pipes for the sunroof exit the car

Hi folks, I want to check if my drainage pipes for the sunroof have issues as I am getting a damp drivers side carpet and from other forums , this has been an issue on Discoverys and the old RR Sport due to the sunroof drain pipe grommet coming out of its hole in the wing/bodywork and so the water ends up running down the inside of the car into the footwell instead - as the pipes on those apparently run down the inside of the 'A' columns , down the back of the electrics, then out through a hole in the bodywork - great idea!! Anyone know how they route through the car?
I am also going to try to unblock them (if blocked) using some strimmer cable (got this off another site and seems like a good idea) to wiggle down the tubes as it is very flexible, strong and thin of course so should work well. Steve

I used strimmer cable on my D3 with good results but I couldn't even get it round the first bend on the FF! 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Cant answer your question but... What i do usually is pour a glass of water slowly (so it does not run down the bodywork) then look for the water running out under the cars A & B or C pillars... That way you know they are working Thumbs Up

I had the same issue on my L322 a couple of years ago. The solution was to spray some WD40 into the drainage tubes, wait for a minute or two and then pour some hot water (not boiling, but warm/hot) down the tubes.

The WD moistioned up the clogg and the warm water dissolved the remainding stuff.

At least this worked for me. Range Rover 5.0 SC AB 2013 L405 Orkney grey with Santorini black roof

Did you ever solve this?
I have a 2014 (new to me) that’s been having drainage issues that sound awfully similar to yours.
I can’t find the drain “in” or “out”!!
Haven’t been able to find any info regarding this on the L405 at all!

Hi ,
My issue turned out to be a leaking front windscreen seal on the drivers side. Very small gap which over months leaked drops of water down the 'A' column and into the drivers footwell. The carpets are very very thick so held a lot of water, so much so I eventually could hear it sloshing around. I had to have all seats and lower trims removed so as to take the carpets out (the design of the floorplan allows for the water running right across the car),. The carpets took around a week to dry and were then refitted. The water corroded my amplifier (under passenger seat) which failed completely so I had to buy a new one (£850 for the basic one I had). Windscreen was replaced and all now OK. It was also the cause of my recurring 'low battery' warning on the dashboard which always tested and charged OK when dealer looked at it. This was due to multiple cables basically being underwater for months. All in all, with the new windscreen, cost me £2000 to fix Sad Steve

My issue cost £2500 of my money plus a £1000 dealer contribution.
The amps etc under the passenger seat and 'stuff' in the boot need to be replaced because of a fully corroded sunroof drain.
