yes, I bought a 2011 L322 and got a year long warranty with Warrantywise thrown in. cost was c. £1000. I think the mileage has to be under 100,000 to qualify. |

Yes but what I'm wondering is whether there is any basis on which I can have a warranty that is exactly the same as I would have if I bought from Land Rover as an "approved used" vehicle. In other words - a Land Rover warranty! |

I have a Jaguar Land Rover extended warranty on my 2011 Vogue SE which I purchased direct. I.e. I didn't go through a dealer. They were also happy that I was using a specialist for service and repair.

You would be doing very well to negotiate with a non LR franchised dealer to purchase you a genuine LR extended warranty because they are £1k+ per year to the person 'on the street'. You never know though... |

As far as I know, LR won’t put one of their warranties on a car bought from a non-LR dealer.

Surely they would put a new warranty on a vehicle that was still within the original three years, whoever bought or sold it. If there was a break in warranty periods they would need to inspect the vehicle at considerable cost. I did this with an RRS some years ago. |

I looked at having an extended LR warranty and there was nothing to pay regards an inspection whilst the car remains in the original warranty period. |

That's correct, it's only when you go past the previous warranty expiration date that you have to effectively start again by having an inspection. It makes sense as the existing warranty gives LR a certain confidence that nothing is likely to be very wrong with the vehicle at that stage. |
