Exclusive member of FFRR Club?

Just passed 300,000 miles in my Fatty, original engine and gearbox.

Am I a member of an exclusive club or are there any others with this claim to fame (notoriety!)?

Wow, that is very impressive, and you have still got all your pixels Rolling with laughter
Most cars with that mileage would be like “Triggers brush”... 2 engines...3 torque converters... Rolling with laughter

Rolling with laughter Was just waiting for the 'Trigger's Brush' analogy! Thumbs Up

Yes, still got all my pixels, never had to touch the dashboard. Even I am impressed with how good and reliable my FF has been, not had any major problems at all in the 6.5 years I've owned it. I know the engine and gearbox are original as the serial numbers all tally the Build Sheet and the previous owners kept a meticulous log of works done. I am well into the second service book and have meticulously maintained the running gear (regular gearbox oil and filter changes, serviced every 15,000 miles and any minor problems sorted straight away). My local indy garage are so impressed with my FF that they have asked for first dibs when /if I decide to retire her.

Would have given extra kudos for a 300 mile trip reading, in barmy 30 degrees heat at 3 in the morning. But this is pretty special regardless!!

Is it a 4.2 SC?

No it’s a bmw engined TD6. The greaboxes were renowned for being made of chocolate but my first FFRR was a 2002 td6 and was over 135,000 fault free miles when I sold it to a mate who never had any probs gearbox wise with it either.

I love how it says:
TIME 12:50PM

It’s like no one would recognise 12:50PM by itself as the time. And then you think, hang on, back then being able to spell out whole words in Latin characters on a display (without turning 8008 or 77345 upside down) like that was kind of Blake Seven futuristic! So I’m surprised they didn’t also prefix “this is your” to it given they had the pixel space for it. Rolling with laughter

Not that your car is especially old, but my humour is. Rolling Eyes

Is the plan to take this old lady to 500k miles under your ownership?

Shocked I was getting a bit worried about mine, in fact thinking of changing. But at only 131000 miles I now realise that she just run in and good for another 100,000 at least - after all she is running sweet, there we go now I've said it Laughing Geoff
