Mine 980 last year with admiral renewal this year still with admiral 770 but got 577 with go skippy with a bit of a fight

My renewal notice arrived from Tesco this morning, but they obviously don’t want my custom this year, despite being loyal to them for 2 years and the value of the car being significantly lower.
25% raise from last year
I tried A- Plan, wanting to give them my thanks for supporting the forum. They were cheaper than Tesco, but Admiral gets my business this year at £420, ten pounds less than Tesco last year.

My then current insurer refused to quote too. Something to do with not insuring any car over a certain value. To their credit, they gave a full refund for the balance of term, with no deduction

Does yours have a tracker? It usually makes a big difference.

Yes Cat 6 whatever that means? Not taken delivery yet so spoke to the dealer who confirmed it had. My insurance have stated they will give a full refund so it’s just a question of finding an insurer that will  718 GT4

Got a few days to shop around for a new quote. I saw that Tesco came up favourably for a few on here so gave them a try, direct on their website.
Result - save £200 on my current policy (that want to put it up by another £50 for renewal.)

Then I try C.T.M.com with the same details

Result - Admiral £100 less than Tesco! but the strange thing is the Tesco quote is literally double the standalone quote on their own website. The meerkats say that "You won’t get cheaper going direct" on their website.

I'm now at a price less than my old Honda was a few years ago. Pity I can't do the same with the tax bill  Current: 2007 RR 4.2 SC, now deceased, written off by an X5

Have been with Admiral for 9 years, always been the cheapest. But when my renewal came through, I noticed that my 3rd party cover to drive other cars had been removed.

Rang them, they said its was because as a driver for a well known charity, its classed as being in the motor trade

Needless to say I'm now with Tesco and £200 better off for it. Three things in a blokes life his dog,his car and a Cornish pasty,nothing else matters.

Been with admiral for a couple of years.

I note a comment above about trackers.
In my experience, I have never seen the cost saving outweigh the annual tracker subscription cost.
With admiral, it makes no difference to my quote whatsoever.
So a few years ago I ceased being a customer of tracker.
On all my vehicles. (2 cars and 1 motorbike).

Strange that; having a tracker fitted reduced my premium by nearly 2/3rds!

Perhaps it’s an L405 specific thing?

Cheapest quotes are great, but you never know how good an insurance company is until you need to claim. Needless to say I won't use Tesco home policy, or any of their insurance again. Cheers
