My L322 front parking sensors don't work. According to the manual if a fault is detected by the PDC ECU in one sensor then all 4 are disabled. Thus I cannot listen at each one to ascertain which is one faulty. The manual also says that if a fault is detected the PDC led will flash and sound a 3 second warning tone, however, mine is not doing this ! The front internal sounder is OK. Is there a way I work out which one is at fault without paying the garage to use their diagnostic kit ? Thanks.

When you activate the Parking Distance Control, even if one parking sensor is faulty, you should still hear the other 3 click faintly if you put your ear next to it. The system, as a whole, will not function but each operational parking sensor will still be "on" when the system is activated. 2010 RR SC

I’ve seen in the past when one sensor has failed or the wiring damaged then it is enough to “pull” the whole system down. I have had to remove front bumper on one a couple of months ago ( only takes 15mins) and unplug them all and put one back in at a time whilst watching the diagnostics to see if the sensor is reading a distance, do this to them all and it should give you an Idea.

As normal it’s just a process of elimination, break the system down into smaller parts and build it back up until the s**t hits the fan

I have now tried listening to each front sensor in turn (using the microphone memo app on my phone). There is no clicking sound from any of the front sensors (all 4 on the rear bumper click). So, I'm back to square one !!

You will need to get the front bumper cover off in order to get at the wiring loom for all the sensors. It is either a duff sensor or a wiring issue, but the cover will need to come off in order to check/repair/replace. (yes, you can get at the outer sensors by pulling back the inner wheelarches.

I had this issue at the rear, no clicking from anything. Found a single broken wire to one of the sensors. Soldered it up and all was well.

Guessing won't help, action is required  .

So, I’ve now tested each front sensor and checked its wiring. All found to be working/OK. I accessed the front 2 outer sensors quite easily via the wheel arch. The 2 inner sensors I gently prised out from the front with a small bladed screwdriver quite successfully. I then removed one of the known good rear inner sensors by pushing it out from the back of the rear bumper. This is easy by just reaching up underneath. Thus I was able to plug in each front sensor in turn to test them. No front or rear bumper removal necessary ! Since I have no flashing LED on the PDC switch nor any 3 second audible warning tone, I can only assume that my front sensors have been switched off at some earlier time via the IDS – do you agree?

yep for me i can confirm this.had the same problem.turn't out the front sensors were disabled in the ccf.
but don't ask me why or how.
