[Wanted] Dog Guard and fixed side steps, L322

As above, looking for both for my "new" 5.0 AB which I'm picking up on Saturday. As per comment on another thread, I'd quite like a retractable dog guard in Ivory but will go with a standard metal one until a retractable in the correct colour turns up.

Side steps - what have you got? Don't particularly want deployables and definitely not chrome rails.

Thanks.

To be fair, I think the retractable one is just a cargo net. Some dogs will get round the sides as it’s not solid. A proper dog guard will be better for an actual dog.

Cappo - I have a spare retractable net “luggage/dog” guard. It’s the right colour too I think. Let me know if u r I interested. Will try and find a photo

+1 on that post, my dogs quickly worked out that you can get round the sides of the net one so a proper one is much better, I have my old Ivory one somewhere but due to the dogs exuberance it is not in the best of condition Rolling with laughter

My dogs are pretty well-behaved in the car (and too big to get round the side anyway!) so it's really a safety thing, to stop them from being thrown forward in a crash. I presume the net is fully-extended and therefore "locked" so to speak once it's in place?

@Dolphinboy, yes please, if you can let me know what you have?

It hooks into the brackets in the roof, that’s all. Just a single point each side.

I recon for dogs a proper guard would be much much better. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

These are the clips in the roof, and the ends on the cargo net. Not as strong as a dog guard, and I imagine a dog guard might end up cheaper?

Depends on what you mean by too big, was a Labrador in my case, not all of them to be fair but gives you an idea of what can get round it Thumbs Up

Those are the same fitting as for the metal guard anyway. I think there is metal behind the plastic covers which the top fittings slide into.

Metal dog guard is definitely cheaper, but they're a slight pain to remove if you need to put something long in the car. Although conversely the mesh guard is more "dense" looking.

What I was trying to say was, once the guard is fully extended and clipped into the roof, presumably there's little or no more slack, so whilst it's still flexible it would prevent a dog from being thrown forwards.

My dogs don't ever try to climb over/through, so I don't need it for that reason! GSDs btw.

Thanks for that - I suspect it might be a bit prohibitive to send via a courier though? I'm in Kent so collection isn't really an option!
