Very true Stan ,also i was told that a turbo shouldnt have bearing problems for hundreds of thousands of miles , much more likely that seals age and then that or other issues cause the failure. When one od my 3.6 turbos went , it was the impeller shaft that snapped , turbo shop local to me said it was usual to see that. He thought metal fatigue might have been the culprit. My 3.6 had 210k kilometres on it at the time. Its the only turbo i have ever had an issue with and i have had a fair few turbo cars that were heavily modded.

Haven't heard of it being an issue with the 4.4 tdv8 while plenty of cases of the 3.6 having turbos as a weak spot. I suppose you can be mindful of spirted driving and change the oil regularly and hope you have a good one Thumbs Up 2015 4.4 AB

My 40,000 mile just under 3 year old had to have its turbo replaced at the end of last year, they admitted there was a known fault but said it was to do with the wiring harness. letters not necessarily in the right order

@Red Merle of course it does. I wasn't putting my brain into gear.
I don't have a choice insofar as I live in a built up London sprawl, I'm lucky to get anything spun up the speed of traffic here. I don't usually go from tearing along to stop though so no harm done yet. I haven't treated it to a slow down from speed when stopping at services though so one to keep in mind.
Thumbs Up
