Brexit causing ferry bookings to be canceled.

Just heard on Radio 4 that some ferry operators are cancelling booked trips as the Gov is block booking 'floating capacity' to ensure free movement of medicines and other essentials around the end of March.

I know many on here enjoy a continental trip so beware!! Evil or Very Mad 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

Who is Brett ?

And why is he messing with our ferries Whistle

My dogs are in Andorra and not coming back until April - my wife is getting quite stressed about what might happen - I’m a bit more relaxed

Hi, Stan Don`t forget to get your dog booked into a French vet for a worm tablet to come back?
As you have done this before it just to inform others?

We’re already in Spain with the dog and due to sail from Santander on the 6th April. If the ferries are cancelled we will have to stay over here until our summer trip.

What I can't understand (and I live in Kent) is why we need extra ferry capacity?
Why will there be extra lorries? Are we all going to be using more aspirin and chocolate?
The demand will be the same, its just the queue might be longer, therefore there will actually be more space on the ferries for cars.

But maybe not.....

Here is something else a bit political. The French have said at Calais, they aren't going to bother with any extra checks, so why should we. Nobody actually has to do it if they don't want to. Same as in Ireland. If both sides say they aren't going to bother with anything other then random checks, nobody can make you do it...….(my partner says no all the time, and nobody can make her do something she doesn't want to!!!)

They only check a small random amount of containers at the container ports, they don't check every one.

We are a nation of people who comply with others leglislation. The French and Italians are great at saying, yes we will have all the rules, but they don't actually apply to us, and they are proud to be nationalistic. If we did that we would probably still be in the EU.....

Best wishes
