Hi folks,happy new year!
Today I got stranded with the dreaded flat battery.Eventually got a jump start after 2 hours
So I'm going to fit a 2nd battery,probably in the space used by the detachable hitch.
Question is,do I just leave it in there getting a continual trickle from the boot cigar socket,for emergencies and using long jump leads connect to the front to enable a start,or would it likely go flat like the main battery?Or wire it in properly with heavy duty cable to enable it to charge while driving but also start the car if the main battery wants to silk? I'd prefer the latter option but fear it could difficult with relays/ split chargers etc,whatdya think? Thanks. 2008 L322 Vogue 3.6 TDV8 in Java Black with parchment and Navy interior. 125000mls.

If you're so inclined and looking for a project, then a second battery is a great idea.

However, if you're just worried about an occasional jump start, then IMHO a booster pack is cheaper & more practical

So...should I go to the trouble of wiring in an auxiliary battery( I currently have 2 in my garage that have been on an intelligent trickle charger for months) or just buy a power pack starter,keep it in the boot plugged in to the 12v boot socket..I'm confused!  2008 L322 Vogue 3.6 TDV8 in Java Black with parchment and Navy interior. 125000mls.
