Its probably wheel bearing time. Front left. I see these look like a real pain to change. Are they even worth finding the specialized LR tools to do this? What kind of price should I expect per axle from a shop? I figure if one is going I should be prepared for others to go soon. Plus my rear brake shield has rusted through the shoe retaining pin hole. |

Can be a PItA, to do the bearing, I got my local mechanic to do mine and he was swearing and that was with a new hub assembly to fit in the process. Unless you have a press then I would send it to a garage..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐๐

Thank folks, rik unfortunately these years are not the kind you can buy a hub and bearing pre-pressed.

You could by a second hand one ready to fit cheap as chips ๐ |

Not had to do the bearings yet but just had both rear brake shields replaced on my TD6 - mechanic slitted the shields with a slitter disc on an angle grinder and bent them slightly to fit around the axle - job done and not expensive either ! Before this I was looking at the split shields from the states at 500+ ! |
