seized reversing light fixing screw broken lense fix

Thanks to bushy for the group buy on the reversing bulbs I can like every one else see behind my ffrr. However when I went to fit the bulbs like a few others the screw fixing the lenses is seized solid, when I went to undo it the plastic fixing on the lenses cracked and fell apart. I decided to leave it until I could have a proper look at a solution.

Well it was simple enuff I didn't buy new lenses for £80 a pair neither did I drill out the old screw infact leaving it in is the solution once I fitted and tested the bulbs worked I refitted the lenses and got out my trusty glue gun, give it a good blast of hot melt under, around and over the screw filling the void up in the lenses and let it set.

Job done hope it helps others,

Next time ??? Hopefully the led bulbs last a long long time even if I get a failure the hot glue can be picked out pretty easily

actually thats not a bad idea..a bit of hot glue covering that screw will protect it somewhat....

Different (better?) fitting on later models. On the early ones was a threaded screw into a metal pressfit, on the later ones was a self tapping screw into a plastic pressfit. YMMV .

Mines the early one with a metal press fit sooooo the screw has pretty much rusted its self in there never to come out again with out major surgery
