I had a similar issue few years ago, followed by complete loss of signal. In our case the plastic on the roof aerial had gone a little brittle and cracked, water had got in and corrosion had taken hold on the circuit board. Replaced it with a new genuine item and it’s been perfect ever since, I don’t recall it was a expensive part. |

Update. Four drives since Xmas over an hour and 60 miles and no signal at all.
