looks like Roger is staying...

I've been considering 'upgrading' from Roger for about a year but didn't really want to part with him.

However, 1/2 mile from home, Lloyds Ltd North Shields have had this very nice 2013 L405 SE, 33k miles, 1 owner and I've looked underneath it several times in the evenings when they were closed as it was parked outside the showroom and it was very clean.

I've been sorely tempted many times. They couldn't sell it and I watched the asking price drop by £1k each month. In June they wanted £47k but 2 weeks ago it was under £42k and now its gone so I'm committed to Roger.

You should have bought it. L405 is so much better than L322. That's a fact. Once you have driven the L405 you will not want to go back in a L322. Good thing you didn't ask for a test drive. No regrets! Smile

That is way overpriced at anything over £35k!!

http://tinyurl.com/y88vpyku

or even better, only 46,000 miles

http://tinyurl.com/ya8npj5y

Just 'cos it's got "only 33,000" miles does not make it more valuable (except for less wear adn tear inside). Low mileage means short or infrequent journeys where the engine adn ancillaries barely get warm and allows damage (internal Moisture, rust, etc) to remain hidden. Its a 2013 FCS. You could be getting a 2015 with all its upgrades for £47k!

A lucky miss for you IMHO. Thumbs Up

well it was under £42k. it was £47k in June.

interesting point about the short journeys having a different impact on the car but I'd still have a 2013 33k miler than a 2015 car with 105k

Granted, but given that the first thing that comes out of a salesman's mouth when you go for a trade-in value is ... "yeah, well, of course extra options don't really get reflected in the resale value ...."

Not having a go at you but just showing that there is a lot of more value cars out there. here's an SE for ya.

As for mileage, I would take veryDiscos one for sale every time over a low miler .... Thumbs Up

Had an L322, now got L405 - I would never go back to the older style car.

But, if Roger is your mate, and you love him, than stay with him - A full fat is for life, not just for Christmas! Laughing
