I didn’t know, but if travelling at speed, let’s say the driver has a thrombie, the handbrake can be used by the passenger.

When applied at speed , it works as per foot brakes, until about 5mph then as a handbrake. SWMBO eyes lit up at the thought of more control!!!!!!

I had a demo last week without the thrombie... Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

I went to JLR at Gaydon 3 years ago and was taken for a very interesting tour followed by a ride in a Disco4 on the off road track.

The ride included a very quick charge down the old Vulcan bomber runway and at 100mph the JLR driver told me to pull on the small electronic brake! I looked at him and he just shrugged, took his hands off the wheel and said "Go on, do it".

Totally unbelievable! The car slowed as if a hand was pushing from the front it was that smooth. A real "eye-opener". He then drove down the runway again and took the bend at the bottom at the most amazing speed. I was in the back this time and I couldn't believe the speed he took it at. I don't know what the speed was, as I had my eyes closed! The car went round it as if on rails, so don't let anyone tell you LR cars can't corner!! All LR cars from 1984

The handbrake on my 06MY is so pathetic that if it was wrenched on by Schwarzenegger the deceleration wouldn’t spill a bowl of soup. 2006MY 4.2 SC

i think it's all with the electric handbrake. If I remember, the 2007MY RR workshop manual suggests that at speed, operating the handbrake switch causes the ABS pump to operate the brakes until down to a low speed. Paul,

It works on most modern cars with an electronic hand brake, if you think about EBA it is not a difficult algorithm.
Can I recommend not trying it in a Defender unless you want to fit new half shafts. letters not necessarily in the right order
