A 4.4 NAS L322 came in some 5 weeks ago for oil leaks, bushes and some aircon problems.

Do you have a P showing on your dash saying you are in park ?

As I said above yes all gears appear on the dash!

The transfer box motor is a common fail but I don’t know if it would prevent cranking, you can calibrate the transfer box motor easily but can’t remember how but a google will tell you.

Sorry, but in the early ones, there is no calibration. You are probably thinking of a later model or an RRSport.
