United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Corris Grey

So...here’s the update

- Alternator needs to be changed
- Starter motor is also being changed

Repairs are being done under warranty so I’d estimate there’s no change out of £1000

Hopefully repairs to date (plenum and rubbers, battery, wiring, rear wash wiper pipework blocked, alternator and starter) will all make a big reliability improvement for the foreseeable future.

And only 3months into ownership......I can see a trend here developing!! Car only has 50k miles now and developing a healthy reliance on the warranty. I’ll be saving up for a warranty for next year!!!!

Best regards
Mark

All sorted. New Denso units fitted. Interestingly the starter motor appears to have been changed previously as it seems to be a refurbished unit already. Bit naughty by the Land Rover dealership who previously did the repairs on the vehicle.

Full day job for the technician. Hadn’t realised most of the front of the RR had to be removed to do the work especially for the alternator change. Starter motor is a 2.5hr job.

So full coolant flush as a result of the strip down so another job done.

New starter certainly spins the motor over much quicker which is satisfying.

Hopefully the problems in my first period of ownership are behind me now....but I can see the green oval looking at me as I type!!!! Ahhhh!!!!!!!! Wink
