Hi
Will reply more tomorrow - it is late here in Cambodia!
But - yes - I ignored all the sell it advice on here and invested in an outdoor carcoon. Not cheap but did the job well - it was on the ctek as well. left in May and unwrapped her in October - started first time, no issues at all. The carcoon keeps all moisture out and in effect dessicated dirt underneath. Then did a 6000km road trip back to UK.
The Carcoon I got could be a little bigger - so if going down that road we should coordinate as I said I would let makers know where it could be bigger.
But works well - all wrapped up again and I will be back next in March Series 2a LWB Hardtop - ex British Aerospace that was then used in an armed robbery! not by me!
2 door V8 1979 Range Rover
A slight Subaru blip..
110 County 200tdi
R reg 300 tdi Discovery Aviemore - gone to a local enthusiast to be resurrected in Transylvania
2003 TD5 Discovery2 - now sold
and the 2 wheeled Range Rover - BMW R 1150GSA

and finally the big lady of my dreams... 2012 Westminster - gives me a smile every morning

Good to hear the trip went well Gavin, it’s a long way from Cambodia via half of Europe and just wondering if you got the Dinitrol sorted in Shaw on route ?

Just looked at the Carcoon and its a no no I'm afraid.
Can't ask a mate to put one of those on his drive for me. RR size one is huge and would stand out too much Not Galway but Balmoral green actually

hi,
Yes - the outdoor Carcoon is more imposing on its own - but not hugely bigger that a Full fat on its own. I would say it is about a metre longer (split between front and rear) and should be slightly taller. Only a fraction wider. The crucial thing is the power supply for the charger/fan. The usage is negligible - a low watt light bulb at most - it is the same as a Ctek and a couple of computer fans.

Saw one in someone's roadside front yard when I was in Jersey on this last mega run - and it did not look too bad. So I would consider sounding out your mate before you dismiss the idea. Or how about at a caravan storage site? they are relatively
cheap - and quite a lot of farmers would consider it for some extra beer money.

Just read you intend to ask a mate to put it on his drive - get him on the insurance and give him the keys and tell him to drive it once a week . Maybe to work or maybe for leisure as I do. Geoff
