A leak wont cause a sudden drop to the bump-stops. However failure of more than 1 height sensor will trigger an immediate drop to the bump-stops, as will implausible articulation derived from all 4 height sensors which could be caused by a height sensor producing an apparently valid signal. |

Just FYI on my 12 the dealer replaced one side only when an airbag went.

The implausible fault wont indicate which sensor otherwise the system would simply ignore that sensor. If turning to hard lock causes the dropping and assuming that no fault codes exist for 2 specific failing sensors then monitoring the actual height values with a diagnostic tool as lock is slowly increased might (should?) show a corner changing height significantly when the others don't change much. |
