It may well do but why risk it.

Yet another ‘universal’ inventory-reduction fluid that uses non-legal terms such as ‘is suitable for’ and ‘recommended for use in’ and claims to be a suitable replacement for Dexron VI, Lifeguard Fluid 6, Lifeguard Fluid 8, etc., etc. Of course they recommend the use of their own fluid, the question is do Land Rover or ZF?

Here in Aus we have an oil Company called NULON, they offer a low viscosity full synthetic that apparently is lifeguard 8 compatible.. https://www.nulon.com.au/products/automati...-viscosity 2007 TDV8 VSE

The Aus product looks good? but I can not understand why here it is said that you can not use ZF6 for ZF8 gearbox yet the Australian oil states it is suitable for both gearboxes? |

Thanks for your replies. I have just spoken to Millers oils tech department and they have a product which is a direct equivalent to zf life guard 8. Their reference is Millermatic 8 speed which the tech guys there give as a direct equivalent to Lifeguard.

Can LG8 be used instead of LG6 in the 6-speed? |

I got the Millers oil from Opie for £79 and a genuine ZF filter on line delivered for £75 . So total £154 which I think is good considering some of the costs I have seen whilst researching the subject. |
