Fake main beam headlights..

I am very interested to understand why my L405 Autobiography has only one light unit for dip and main beam , where as my L322 had an additional H7 main beam as well as the Bi-xenon headlights. Meaning on full beam I had double the brightness of the L405 lights...

Why is there a dummy headlight reflector with no bulb in? And has anyone else thought about adding a bulb (led) ?

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated Thumbs Up

Kindest regards
Charles

That light is the cornering light on the AFS system sir... Not a full beam lamp...

I would still like to know how to improve the lights... I think a light bar might be the answer

Are they rubbish? I’ve never been in an L405. Dont the later ones have LED headlights? I’m guessing you can’t swap the units. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

IMO the L405 aren't rubbish at all and if the car is fitted with cornering lights they are certainly worthwhile, again IMO... What's a lightbar? Embarassed

Thumbs Up

My 322 had better lights the my 405. I'll ask at the next service whether any adjustment is possible. Perhaps LR are trying to get people to specify the new laser light option 18MY on. Only Range Rovers since 1988

My old standard 405 lights were rubbish compared to both my old 322 and our D4 Rolling Eyes

Happy to report the 18my pixel plus lights are an ENORMOUS improvement... Our D4 has a light bar and that helps heaps on main beam Thumbs Up

Nothing much to do with this really but couldn’t resist, two weeks ago I went to pick up my DiL’s new MR Discovery 5 from the plant, it was getting dark driving back so lights on and, oh they are pretty good, no very very good......couldn’t wait until we got home to have a look, a multiple array of LEDs......great headlamps.

Made driving home from the Midlands the next night in our L322 with BiXenons a bit of a let down, and I thought mine were good Laughing David

Please let me know if my comments upset you, I may wish to upset you again.

Well just picked up an l405, and have to agree , a step backwards for headlights, very noticeable difference, need to save for Craig’s conversion Mr. Green
