probably ok as a mud/snow on road tyre up to about 60mph?

i had general grabbers on an earlier jeep (only a 2.5td) and found them poor in terms of roadholding in anything other than lowish speeds

particularly bad in heavy rain or standing water

AT are fine, but best to get in 19" due to the sizes.

And do as Jem has, have a set of 20's for the summer

I run the AT2s on my 90 and think they are a superb tyre with no issues in the wet or in general handling and are far better in the snow and ice than the Wintracs even though they are a specific winter tyre. Hi Drakes, how many miles did you get out of the Wintracs??

ive been running the new AT for a few months now on my SC and they are indeed very good.

Much reduced road noise compared to the AT2 and they look good too, nice and chunky and especially in 20" fill the arrches well.

I'm running 275 45 x20 which diameter wise are exactly the same as the standard fit 255 tyres I took off.

I was intending to change them for summer tyres but I think I'll just keep them on all year round as they are so good.

Anyone got any costs to give out?

I think I paid around £740 can't be sure.

there are guys on the D3 forum who are getting 35 / 40 k out of a set, which is more than the GY and Pirelli I had which needed changing at 20 / 25k max when they were absolutely shot.

are people considering this as a 'winter only tyre'?

as i said in the jeep xj (turbo diesel) they were very poor apart from lowish speeds

it made be that the xj diesel is only 2wd on road (the petrol versions are ok in 4x4 on road)

maybe this is what made the difference to my findings?
