Thanks Joe. I was pretty comfortable with that bit (useful to know I'm not missing anything though!), but the bit I'm less sure about is the diamond shape blanking plate (pic attached). Assume this needs to go on the exhaust manifold, but it doesn't seem easily accessible. Is it an unnecessary step, or am I just missing something obvious

The one you bought seems too much mucking around, you can get them which are simpler, just remove your exisiting one, fit this type in its place exactly how the old one was fitted. it looks O.E so inspectors won't know you have removed it.as pipes are still there, no blanking plates required like yours.'

Done this to my TD6 a couple months ago very easy job no fault codes.

Its Vacuum controlled so just plug the hose from the controller to the EGR valve.
