Hi, I am looking to improve ride comfort on road in a 2011 SC. I thought about moving to a 235 55 r20 tire (same diameter as OEM) or 255 55 r20, but some people just had rubber issues. Anyone could please recommend a tire that will fit without mods? I ws thinkin 235/255 55 r20. Another option is to reduce psi. What would be the best psi? Any other ideas? thanks in advance

Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

235/55/20 is a smaller diameter remember the profile, 55, is a percentage of the tread width, 235.
In this case you are reducing the over diameter by almost an inch 2005 E60 M5

How old are the existing tires? They degrade so slowly you don't realise how good a new set can feel until you slap them on. This might be as much a problem as tyre size.

I have the Vogue SE 2010 TDV8 and my last two sets have been Michelin Latitude Sport 3 255/50 R20, okay not the SC, but the ride comfort has been excellent, grip superb esp in the wet and I get good wear (I rotate front-back every 3-5K miles), so much better than the Conti boots that were on when I got her.

Now looking to get a set of good winter boots as we live high up and this past Feb we were snowed in for 5 days, the road tyres just no good in -12oC and dry or compacted snow. FF MY2010 3.6 tdV8 VogueSE

I bought a set of 255/55 20 Michelin Diamris Sport for my previous L322.

Improved the ride no end and absolutely no downsides and not even a thought of rubbing even at access height.

There are many threads on this virtually all positive, the only downside is that I like the look of Pirelli Scorpions but I spend far more time inside driving than outside looking at the tread blocks! 2016 (L405) Autobiography in Black with Ivory - for ULEZ

I think most people go for the L405 size which is 255 55 20 as they have a larger side wall hence improving comfort.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the ride comfort of an L322 running the correct tyres at the correct pressures  2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17
