I haven't got my car yet, but I have found a very successful prior conversion to a 4.2 s/c FFRR. It's a guy on Pistonheads, I found one of his posts and e-mailed to enquire about his gas conversion and received the e-mail below:]

If you can afford a Phantom plus a boat in Monaco then you do not the Lpg coversion? Something fishy there... |

Bloody hell how many times do I have to repeat, it's being done NOW! Also it's not to do with 'cheap mpg' or I would have a crappy Eurobox, it's to do with not wishing to pay 70% tax on every litre of fuel. My car my risk, I've evaluated it, found some people who've done it, some it's worked for some not. I have a warranty on the car and the conversion, and I'm confident that the early conversions were the learning process, and now the convertors know how to get it right, also LPG technology moves on very rapidly! So no more advice not to do what I've already done thanks! Any no more people telling me RR ownership is not for me, I've made the decision it is!!! It's already cost me a fortune, and I'm prepared for it to cost me a lot more, I'd just prefer it goes into the car, and possibly parts, rather than fuel at 25-30 pence per mile just in tax! Gary is this the most bizarre conspiracy theory ever! Some random stranger posts a year ago that he has a Supercharged L322 on LPG, and when I approach him mentions his boat and possible alternatives to his car and it's all made up...Why? What's he selling, what's his agenda? Isn't it just possible that this guy, like the cabinet, the royal family and the american president, chose to convert their vehicles to lpg for their own reasons, and have found it very successful! Why are UK petrol heads so against LPG, the rest of Europe love the damn stuff, it enables you to run big V8 engines without away your hard earned cash at 1.8 times the rate you would on petrol! And personally I find no matter how much I earn, money not paid in tax is always just as sweet as money earned!

I have owned an LPG Range Rover myself and they are great if you intend to keep long term. Its just that Phantom/Yacht ownership requires megabucks and that rarely combines with a relatively old LPG converted Range Rover. Just my opinion and that's all but that's the beauty of forums... |

Hope it all goes well with the LPG. I've had two previous FFRR's with LPG (4.4's) and it's a very satisfying feeling putting your foot down without, clearing the national debt.

I'd start with thinking about the map. Also have the emissions checked, if it's that rich it's amazing it passed an MOT.

Not all have rear seat screens even on facelift but worth looking at 56 onwards if your budget allows. They are supposed to be the best engines if you service regular and dont mind 14-20 mpg a lot of fun |
