New compressor fitted while on bumpstops | |
Right, Ive rpelaced both front air struts and after a bit of playing around, worked out the compressor had burned itself out at the same time (Im assuming). Initially I refurbed the compressor and drying granules as per the common video on YouTube, still nothing. sourced new internals for the compressor housing (new motor and drying cylinder etc), fitted it, cleared all faults (only one that remained on anything was a CAN bus error)
Turned the RR on, hear the compressor start vibrating away, done full lock left/right to clear the 'air susp inact' on the dash and it started raising slowly. I panicked a bit as had read you cant let the compressor run for too long (cant remember the time quoted, 60 secs, or 90 secs maybe?) so hopped out, turned the car off and it was still running?
In the end i pulled the relay in the boot to save the compressor
Should I of let it run longer? The car has raised slightly, but not to full ride height as yet
Any advice please guys??
