Dilema

I'd like to reduce the fleet in size. I have a 110 which is great when caravaning as we have two dogs. It has a full cage in the rear making it relatively secure for the dogs and also items within. Then theres the FFRR nice touch of luxury but parking at work is getting very tight and I'm reluctant to park it on pay and displays. I'm toying with chopping in the FFRR and 110 and getting a newer 110 CSW, around '03 which should actually hold its value better than the FFRR. Its a dilema as I love my FFRR Confused

Just gave them all a rinse off today.

Agreed.

Or get a new(ish) 110 Defender with the 6 speed box and Tdci engine. Very good for an everday vehicle if you don't mind a Defender cabin. (cramped)
Cheap road tax on 90s and 110s now as LR changed them all to commercials so road tax is cheaper than for Disco/FFRR. Means it'll hold value better than a slightly older one...

I hear what your saying guys. The Disco is appealing but no smaller really than the FFRR.

I've been browsing TD5's though I have to say the seats in the newer 2007 onwards TDCi would be more appealing for the kids in the back.

I may hang fire yet... just keep browsing. Smile 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

sell all 3, buy a new Evoque for work/ day to day driving and a 3 year old TDci 110 CSW or SX as there now quite a few coming on the market and by now they should have had all the gremilins that the earliest ones suffered from fixed 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

I think if your dogs (unless they something like Jack Russels or Corgis or something smaller!) might not appreciate the back of an Evoque, it doesn't look all that big, which was why I suggest the LR doggy walking wagon 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Trouble is a top of the range Defender 110 CSW will be more than the FFRR is worth for the same age. Which rules out any other investment. Shocked And those spangly TDCi are mucho spondolees more. I was liking the newer rear seats ... but some research shows while they do offer more leg room than the older CSW style.. they are equally as upright.. which makes them un-natural to sit in for the kind of miles we clock up when touring. How selfless am I.. talking myself out of a cool as Censored 110 for the comfort of the kids.

Discovery would be comfortable... but then again, isn't much smaller.

Took the FFRR to work today. Parking is the main concern as the spaces are real tight.. and with 75 vehicles all trying to create new ways of blocking each other in ..... I need to get posted somewhere remote.... with a wormhole to travel there Laughing

If we had Evoque pennies then we would have gone that route when we just got the Freelander... we're not in the new car league.. but can't complain for one minute as were not doing bad. Very Happy

I'm thinking I'm just going to have to keep on roughing it in the 110 for car park wars Twisted Evil and suffer the FFRR a little longer. Laughing A Disco would also kind of defeat some of the money saving due to the hike in Tax.. may as well run the older 110 along side the FFRR as both come to around the cost of taxing 1 Disco.

You see my dilema Wink

I think I may just tart up the 110, roofliner, doors & door cards and a Tdi lump to make some benifit of all that loverly veg oil being 30p a litre less than the real deal. Sadly the injector pump on the current TD lump isn't up to squirting anything thicker than supermarket soap.

Being a Landrover fan is a curse... If I swapped, I'd still want something else Banging Head 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

What about you get another Freelander? as if you sold the FFRR you would have some dosh to pay for one of the newer Freelanders. I was contemplating getting one on Saturday as the D3 was getting expensive to repair. I thought about it but threw that thought out the window. They're nice cars but personally I'd keep the FFRR, only car which I would get to upgrade from a FFRR would be a Phantom but you can get their comforts for less than half the price in a Range Rover, and you have one.

I'd say don't be so precious about the FFRR and where you park it (in the nicest way). Very Happy

I drive all over the country and leave my car wherever it takes me, sometimes very dubious places and sh*tty car parks etc, but its my one and only car that gets me home safe and sound, day in day out. I can't be arsed to have a rubbish mile muncher and keeping the RR for weekends.

I use mine for absolutely everything, driving to black tie functions, escorting international work colleagues around in comfort, going shooting, going fishing, dog in the back, wearing wellies, dripping wet from being rained on all day shooting, chainsaw and a boot full of logs towing a trailer out of forests and then the day to day mile munching.

That's what's so good about a Range Rover. It does everything, brilliantly. Cool Discovery 4 HSE

El, then you need to get the FFRR covered in mud, nobody will park within 5ft of you then as they will get their clothes dirty getting in and out of their own cars! 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes
