Hi All, i was wondering while sat doing nothing much at all what would be the best products for car detailing, ie the bodywork,
what do other FFRR owners use? TFR,wax,clay,glaze,shampoo, etc, i have got mine to do and often wonder if i make life hard for myself by just using what i always have used, obviously new products come out all the time and i thought i might be a good idea, not just for myself but for all forum users to have a list of "stuff" that people have tried and use, i generally use Autoglym
products, they're ok but i am sure there will be "better" products out there, that's not to say Autoglym is bad or anything, i would just like an alternative and given that there are many FFRR pictures on here that look very shiny (more so than either of mine) i want it looking its best if i can, i figured if any one is going to know about the "good stuff" then its going to be you guys

I watch a lot of the YouTube videos from Forensic Detailing. He seems to talk a lot of sense and his product reviews are excellent. I use a lot of products he recommends and I haven’t been disappointed yet.

Just finished applying a sealant that he recommended so my car is now protected for the winter.

I live in the subtropics where the sun is a scorcher. So I regularly do a two bucket wash and apply a choice of different waxes, depending on how much effort and time I have.

As a shampoo, I use:
- Nextzett Glanz Shampoo, wash and wax; or
- Duragloss Car Wash Concentrate

Both good. For a wax I use:
- autoglym spray wax for quick job;
- chemical Guys butter wet wax if a medium time and effort available; and
- Bilt Hamber double speed wax if a bit more time available.

I do a clay bar about twice per year.

Paint protection is the priority in my environment. ______________________________

I enjoy a good few hours of cleaning the car but I’m struggling with this one. What do people use for reaching the roof? I’ve been standing on a tyre to reach up but I need something more secure for when I’m drying/waxing.

I use one of these. Very handy for all sorts of jobs around the house/garden as well.

The bf is a detailing nut he has tried everything under the sun. He swears by getting someone in the know to properly machine polish the car and then apply a ceramic coating. They last for up to 2 years and he used them on his C63 and Golf R. The paint is like glass and the water beading is amazing.

With Ceramic coatings there are loads to choose from but he said for the money he finds CQUARTZ excellent value. The key is in preparation mind the paint needs to be as swirl free as possible otherwise it looks awful.

IIRC you can get all the prices from their website, I noticed when I was looking for some G5 application videos. I'm pretty sure the prices were extremely high, but I'm sure they're worth it if you can stretch to it
