Have just replaced both front air struts (complete units), and refurbished my aging compressor at the same time. Turned the car on, and nothing, still in the extra low position of when the AA man depressurised the system.

What do we need to do to repressurise it please?

Sounds like a leak somewhere.

The first fault suggests a compressor fault, one where the car expects the reservoir to fill because the compressor is running. The second suggests that there is a leak in the reservoir.

Put the two together and I would think that there is a leak in the tank or the lines to it.....

We’ve listened and can’t hear any air anywhere, neither a leak or the compressor trying to fill. Would when the AA guy depressurised the system it of shut everything off in the ECU? On his scanner it showed as all valves closed, including the reservoir one.

Also the reservoir pressure was at 1.5 bar when we first turned on, and only raised to 1.6 bar after a few minutes. I think I read somewhere the reservoir pressure needs to be 12 bar, with a minimum pressure of at least 9 bar...

Is the EAS enabled ? (AA man could have disabled it, this is a function you can apply with the iiDTool)

Is the EAS disabled, as in no lights on the dash, if so needs a reset .

Yes as Joe has said it’s probably registered a hard fault and needs clearing down before it’ll start filling..... ______________________________

How can I tell if eas is enabled? When we clear dash alarms with the diagnostic tool, the height controller knob illuminates as at normal height, even though it’s on it’s bumpstops still.

Don’t know if AA man disabled it or not, all I saw him do was ‘depressurise system’ to level the car so it could be recovered

ITs almost as though the compressor isn’t being told to start or fire up, even though it’s needed to

We wasn’t sure if an after a ‘depressurised ststem’ it needed a ‘pressurise system’ instruction from a more specialised diagnostic tool to fire it back into life.

Worth a try:

Start the car, give it a couple of minutes
Drive it forwards a bit then drive it backwards, might kick something in to life

Any dash messages or lights go out.

Also what happens if you flick the knob to off road ?

Also try a battery disconnection procedure, a good 10 minutes, and touch terminals .

I’ll give it a go driving forward a bit but the wheels are actually up inside the arches so don’t want to do much more than a couple of metres

Only dash message is ‘air suspension inactive’ which the usual full left/full right lock clears.

If you click the knob to off road, the top led flashes as though it’s raising, but nothing from compressor, no noise and certainly no air from it.. interestingly the dash then says ‘off road mode: max 30 mph’ even though it’s still on the deck?

Just changed my luck and had the AA out and played a bit dumb (dumber than usual) but nothing, he cleared fault codes ‘accumulator pressure static when filling’ and He done a 5 min battery disconnect but to no avail

Hmmm, you have a soft fault in there if it is clearing with lock to lock, and you get lights on the dash (EAS lights), or you have a gremlin

Me, I would want to get an LR diagnostic tool on it, probably iiDTool / AllComms or if Indie has one a Testbook.

Still worth a battery disconnection procedure if you haven't done one. (the old "Switch it off and on again" routine)  .

Forgot to say AA man tried valves individually with his diagnostic tool and you could hear them switching/opening/calling for air but nothing.

Tested for voltage at the compressor connector block in the spare wheel well, no voltage with ignition on but 12v with the car running, guess this is normal?

With car running and suspension still on the floor, you could pull off the air supply pipe from compressor to the valve in the spare wheel well and no air, I was expecting 9-12 bar?

Can I assume the compressor is knackered? Seen brand new internals for £130 online, is it worth trying new internals?

Ah, just re-read - refurbished air compressor....refurbished what?

See if you can get this to run with leads from a battery, off the car

Also worth checking all the electrics on the compressor .

OK,

thinking back to my 2002 RR ... when I had EAS errors, I had to read and clear the errors from the EAS ECU and the headlight ECU as well.

The headlight ECU would log errors from other components of the car. On start up, even though you had cleared the EAS errors, the headlight will report the logged fault, so the EAS became inactive and an error put on the dash.

So make sure you clear ALL the errors from ALL the systems. IIRC when they clear, the compressor should start running immediately. V8 or else ...

Compressor fuse? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
