If you're talking about the outside plastic cover, then there was a polishing kit you could buy that removed the fading and yellowing from headlight covers.

Hi Thanks, yes as far as I can tell it's the plastic out cover that is tarnished - will have a look on the forum as you have suggested and get it cleaned up! |

No fancy polishing kit needed for a quick fix, just some paint restorer compound (e.g. T Cut or Meguairs Ultimate) a cloth and some elbow grease.
