navigation unit

having finally resolved the dead locked door problem on my L322 I am moving on to another problem. My car does not have the touch screen, its the earlier version. I cannot get the navigation unit working. First problem is that on the display screen the navigation option does not appear, the unit is there in the boot, but it seems dead, the eject button does nothing. I assume that is why the display screen does not show navigation as an option? Any ideas? If the unit is dead will that stop the display showing navigation? What is the likely cause of this problem, am I likely to need a new head unit?
The display screen shows everything else, just not naigation.

Yes indeed Sir,

Most problems stem from water ingress in the area, things may 'look' OK but actually the boards in the units, and the connectors can suffer significant damage -- as an example I had an intermittent amp, when I took one connector out 2 pins stand in the connector -- ie disintegrated from the unit completely -- that resulted in the soldering iron coming out Smile

So, let the car 'go to sleep' then pull all the connectors, and units, take them apart carefully, and have lots of contact cleaner ready at hand!

Hope that helps Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

So, are you saying that if the connections are bad the unit will not show up on the display screen? I will pull the unit out and check/clean all the connections, see if that fixes the problem. Thanks for the advice.

That could be good news then, as if its only dirty connections it could just be a cheap fix!! There is a first time for everything, even where Range Rovers are concerned!
